Mama to a left-hemi warrior, ER nurse by day, advocacy is my jam. Our son Everett was diagnosed with infantile spasms at 11 months old and had a left hemispherectomy in April 2020, right before he turned two. His underlying cause was cortical dysplasia which was presumably caused by a mutation on the SCN3A gene. We are so thankful that he has been seizure free since the day of his surgery. We are so exited to be all together and are looking forward to connecting with other families and learning all the things! 😃
